Evicting Table Data from Memory

You can configure tables with least recently used (LRU) eviction and expiration to manage the amount of data that is managed in memory in a GemFire XD distributed system. You can choose whether to simply remove evicted data from the GemFire XD system (reducing the size of the total data set) or persist the evicted data in disk store operational log files so that the data can be reloaded as needed to satisfy future queries.

Note: The techniques in this section can be used with non-HDFS peristent tables as well as HDFS Write-Only tables. However, you cannot use these techniques to manage memory for HDFS Read/Write tables. See EVICTION BY CRITERIA for HDFS Tables.
