Managing Tables in Memory

Designing a GemFire XD database also involves estimating the memory requirements for your data based on the size of the actual table values and indexes, the overhead that GemFire XD requires for your data, the overall usage pattern for your data, and whether you wish to store your table row data in the JVM heap or in off-heap memory. You can estimate heap memory requirements for tables using general guidelines for GemFire XD overhead. Additionally, you can load tables with representative data and then query the GemFire XD SYS.MEMORYANALYTICS table to obtain details about the heap or off-heap memory required for individual tables and indexes.
