Browsing MBeans Using JConsole

You can browse all the GemFire XD MBeans in your distributed system by using JConsole.

To view MBeans through JConsole, perform the following steps:
  1. Start JConsole, connecting to the JMX service of an available JMX manager. For example, to connect to a locator that was started with the default JMX manager options (and without SSL encryption), use the command:
    jconsole service:jmx:rmi://localhost/jndi/rmi://localhost:1099/jmxrmi

Substitute the hostname and port RMI port number of the actual JMX manager process.

If you configured GemFire XD with SSL encryption, specify only the hostname:port combination, in addition to the system properties required to access the client keystore and provide credentials. For example:
    jconsole -J-Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=path-to-keystore -J-Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword=password
         -J-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=path-to-truststore -J-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=password localhost:1099

See Configuring Network Encryption and Authentication with SSL/TLS for more information about configuring GemFire XD with SSL.

  2. On the JConsole screen, click on the MBeans tab. Expand GemFire XD. Then expand each MBean to browse individual MBean attributes, operations and notifications.
