Starting and Stopping GemFire XD Members

A GemFire XD server provides connectivity for clients as well as other servers or peers in the cluster.

GemFire XD deployments typically use the gfxd command-line utility (or an operating system script that calls gfxd) to start datastore and locator members.

On Linux systems you can optionally use an installed service script to start or stop a single GemFire XD member process on the local machine.
